it is not everyday that you are blessed with the gift of foresight.most people fall off because they do not have ambition. it is a rare gift that not many can see or know when it is in them. people need to wake up to the realization that you make your own destiny and your ambitions are shaped by your choices. if you aspire to be a ball player then you should lean towards physical activities and hit the gym as often as you can in anticipation of your future as a ball player. if you want to be a doctor , a lawyer or somethin you have to immerse yourself in study. you gotta have that foresight to be able to see your vision.

great bosses

it is amazing to have a boss who understands and is accommodating. there aren't that many bosses who are nurturing and are willing to teach a young upcoming the ropes and tools of the trade. i am grateful to my bosses because they are and patient with me and their criticism is more constructive than harmful. they just want to see me making it big in the profession.

inspired by a convicted felony

Man the scariest thing that can ever happen to a man is lockdown. Nothing strikes fear into a man than the thought of getting locked up even for a couple of hours. I mean it’s like the beginning of your worst nightmare. Being trapped in a place where all your freedoms are taken away must be so frightening and overwhelming. I can imagine not being able to be with your family and loved ones. You cannot even shower nor do number one or two in private; it’s so degrading and humiliating. I love my space and privacy so much and I cannot imagine that being taken away from me. If you are locked up the system strips you of your dignity, humanity and morals like you become an object in the hands of the wardens. Once the doors are slammed in your face like an Akon record you become state property and the belly of the beast becomes your home. You don’t get to be choosy about what you eat or wear; you become who the system wants you to be. The pen is not really a great place as portrayed in films where you wear orange overalls, push weights or play ball, nope that is a very misleading image of jail. Jail breaks you down emotionally, physically and strips your soul to the bare minimums. Today the 30th of august 2011 I saw an old classmate of mine whom I went to elementary school with telling me of his time in lockdown. Nigga was locked up for six I repeat 6 years! That’s 189 216 000 seconds in lockdown! I really was scared stiff of the thought of spending that much time in jail. Nigga was involved in armed robberies and he was showing a lot of remorse and regret. I mean jail really tames and breaks even the meanest of gangsters. There he was telling me of what ifs and should haves. I mean it really was sad cuz those are six good years nigga is never going to get back. Crime does not pay it only costs you the good years of your life and once you locked up your life loses value. Even when you get out, your life won’t be the same. Nobody will trust you or believe that you reformed cuz once you gone bad you gone forever. Nigga didn’t even have clothes to wear and his family ain’t warming up to him. So there I was talking to my ouma and she told me about her late brother, my grand uncle who spent fifteen years in jail!! She told me that when he came out all the bravado and machismo was all gone instead he was a mere shadow of himself, may his soul rest in peace. Why am I writing this piece? Well I hope that whoever reads this will be inspired to make better their life than waste it on useless trivialities that will lead to jail. I mean make sense out of your life and don’t waste it away being reckless, careless and arrogant cuz when jail catches up with you it will be too late. If you can hustle then do it the proper way without getting yourself involved with illegal stuff. What I am saying is that just lead a straight life and don’t get caught on the wrong side of the law cuz when the long arm of the law catches up with you it will be too late to make right. The bottom line is don’t get caught up in things that will lead to jail. If you ain’t got so much money just be happy that you are alive and breathing. Contentment is the answer to avoiding jail. Be happy with what you have and don’t go looking for things that are out of your reach cuz wanting what you cannot have is the reason most people are in jail. Work hard and believe if God meant for you to have certain things in your life then they will be. Have faith in God and don’t doubt in his providence. Jail ain’t a cool place to call home. I have learnt an important lesson today that I hope to pass on to my brothers and peers. I have always had the fear of going to jail cuz I heard niggaz get molested but there is more to fear in jail than that; that is losing your soul. I pray God keeps guiding me in His righteous ways so that I keep my head straight and above troubled waters cuz man I don’t wanna do jail. I hope none of my people ever get locked up cuz I don’t wanna talk to nobody from the other side of the glass. There is more to life than having all the finer things that money can buy. What good is it for a man to have all the money in the world and yet lose his soul in the process of accumulating the ill gotten wealth? It ain’t worth it after all is said and done. I hope nigga keeps good his word and makes sense of what is left of his life. Sometimes you need to learn the harsh realities of life the hard way. Man what an experience!!!
